Jennifer Wilkinson - Founder, Teacher, Interpreter, Mother

Jennifer Wilkinson is the founder of The American Sign Language Connection and the Let's Sign Together™ program. She is a New York State licensed and insured teacher. She holds certifications in the areas of Elementary Education and Deaf Education. She studied the Whole Language Approach to teaching in Bath, England before becoming a teacher of the deaf. During her seven-year tenure as a second grade teacher of the deaf, she worked on a team developing curricula in the areas of Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Math.

After completion of a program to become an American Sign Language Interpreter, Jennifer freelance interpreted at colleges and universities in NYC . Her interpreting experience also includes the interpretation of the off-Broadway production of Miss Lizzie A. Borden Invites You to Tea, The Madison Square Garden performance of The Wiggles! and other small theater productions, including; Annie, The Sound of Music, and Interpretations - Music for the Senses.

In addition to her tenure as a teacher of the deaf and her role as ASL/English Interpreter, she has also taught ASL at Nassau Community College and to teachers and administrators in schools across Long Island.

Jennifer is an Associate Member of the Registry of interpreters for the Deaf as well as a member of The Council for Exceptional Children.
